XR for the Future of Communication and Immersive Media

Northeastern is discovering whats possible when communication, creativity, and collaboration combine.

Ushering in a new era of telecommunication

The rise of high-quality and increasingly affordable XR platforms allow for professional collaboration in shared hybrid spaces.

As XR technology grows more accessible, it is opening new doors for telecommunications and media companies to explore different business opportunities, empower the rise of future technologies, and strengthen overall customer service strategies at scale.

The demand for better mobile connections is greater than ever in a post-pandemic world. Northeastern’s robust network of XR experts can assist companies in building comprehensive landscapes powered by 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence.

Harnessing the power of creativity and collaboration

Immersive technologies, especially XR, offer a new way to share a space with someone else. It enables us to build memories of experiences using a new sense of presence to enhance our capabilities as humans beyond the need of our physical bodies.

Northeastern faculty explore the possibilities of XR applications in digital storytelling, performance and live art, games, architecture, and more, pushing the boundaries of immersive media and XR.
